Parents

  • Silas' parents were Alfred Miller and Cornelia Lewis Stith Miller. Alfred was a farmer in Hardinsburg, Kentucky. Alfred's wife, Cornelia was seven years younger than him.[1]

  • Silas, like his neighbors, grew tobacco as a cash crop, and was active with the Breckinridge Tobacco Growers Association. He took part in the committee meetings along with John O'Reilly, Lon Jarboe, Jack Jolly, Mike Miller, W.S. DeJarnette, Tice Hendricks, Nelson Jolly and H. D. Moorman.[2]

  • Buried at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Hardinsburg, Breckinridge County, Kentucky, Silas passed away on October 31, 1948. He is buried next to his wife, Eliza Jane Hendrick.[3]
