Biography
Mary Ellen (Miller) Nieman, 75, passed away on 5 November 1943 at Kewanee, Henry, Illinois. She was born on 20 April 1868 at Mount Morris, Ogle, Illinois, the eldest of twelve children of Michael Emmert Miller, 1841-1906 and Elizabeth (Welty) Miller, 1848-1928. She married Nelson William Nieman in 1886.
Mrs. Nieman was survived by: her children, William Rudolph Nieman, b. 1888; Jesse Harrison Nieman, b. 1892; Courtney Leroy Nieman, b. 1903; and siblings, George Merritt Miller, b. 1874; Ida May (Miller) Potter, b. 1875; Bertha "Betty" Lavina (Miller) Bennett, b. 1881; Carrie Esther (Miller) Keplinger, b. 18983; Daniel Leroy Miller, b. 1885; Anna Rebecca (Miller) Hanes, b. 1887; Susan V. Miller, b. 1889; Lester Miller; Willie Miller; Martha Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Nelson, 1865-1937; and sister, Daisey Mariah (Miller) Newcomer, 1879-1934.
Mary is buried at the Plainview Cemetery, Mount Morris, Ogle, Illinois. The Findagrave memorial ID is 146952665.
