Biography

Ephraim Miller was born on 25 Apr 1833 in Ohio. He was the son of John Miller and Marzy Morrison.

Ephraim married Elizabeth "Lizzie" Campbell on 10 Jul 1855 in Wood County, Ohio. They had the following children:

• Elizabeth Jane "Lizzie" Miller
• Martha Olive "Ollie" Miller

In 1860, Ephraim was a School Teacher in Findlay, Hancock, Ohio. Lizzie died in 1860 at the age of 23.

Ephraim married second Anna Antrim Hoge on 5 Jun 1852 in Hancock County, Ohio. They had 2 children:

• Lloyd Willis Miller
• Mary Miller

Epraim was a Professor of Astronomy and Mathematics at the University of Kansas for 36 years in Lawrence, Douglas, Kansas. Ephraim retired and made his home near the Mount Wilson observatory so that he might be near astronomers and scientists. In 1922, the professor and his wife observed their 60th wedding anniversary at the family home, 558 North Lake Street, Pasadena.

Ephraim passed away on 21 Nov 1930 at the age of 97 in Pasadena, Los Angeles, California..
