Mrs. Isabella McLarty, widow of Edward McLarty died this morning at 5:30 o’clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. R.A. Shepherd. Mess. McLarty fell six weeks ago and broke her wrist and had apparently recovered. Thursday she suffered a slight stroke of apoplexy and a second stroke came Monday night since which time she had been unconscious.
Mrs. McLarty was born May 22, 1822 in Argyllshire, Scotland and came with her parents to Marietta, Ohio in 1841. In 1871 she moved with her husband Edward McLarty to Monroe Center. Six years later they came to Rockford.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters. Walter and Daniel McLarty of Rockford; John McLarty, north of Monroe Center; Mrs John Drain of Vincent, Ohio; and Mrs. R.A. Shepherd where she had been making her home. Mrs. Minnie Woodburn and George Ferguson are grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 o’clock at the house. Rev. C. J. Wilson of the Westminster Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Cedar Bluff Cemetery.
