Biography
In 1850 she was enumerated in District 4, Brooke, Virginia.[1] The household included William Maham 75, Nancy Maham 70, James Maham 26, Mochale Maham 23, Helen Owens 14, and William Roland 15.
In 1860 she was a widow living in District 4, Brooke, Virginia.[2] The household included Thomas Mahan 56, Judith Mahan 50, Ann E Mahan 23, Richard Mahan 21, Emily J Mahan 19, Nancy Mahan 17, Thomas Mahan 14, Barbara Mahan 11, Herman Mahan 8, and Nancy Mahan 80.
She signed her will on 6 Sep 1860 and it was proved in court on 12 Sep 1864 in Brooke, West Virginia.[3] She named son Thomas Mahan, son William Mahan, son James Mahan, daughter Ellen Taeff, daughter Mary Laughlin, daughter Sarah Montgomery, daughter Sarah Burgoyne, daughter-in-law Judith Mahan, and daughter Elizabeth Logue.

Original GEDCOM import had Elizabeth (Mahan) Wells attached as a daughter. That Elizabeth was from a different generation.

Jones-35802 and Jones-1974 do not represent the same person because: Nancy Margaret Jones was born about 1779, in Cherokee County, North Carolina. She married Thomas Benjamin Chance in 1800 in North Carolina. They had eight children in 22 years. She died about 1830, in Cherokee County, North Carolina, at the age of 51.
