Biography

Helen was born in December 1921 in Lauben, Germany. She was the daughter of Gustav Eigler and Ernestine Boehm. In 1924 the Eigler family immigrated to Esk, Saskatchewan, Canada. Helen had difficulty seeing. She was sent to Brantford, Ontario to a school for the blind where she was taught braille. She later moved to Winnipeg. Her mother lived with her after her father died in 1947.

Helen married Harold Reginald Green in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Helen married John Barkman. Helen Barkman passed away in September 1996 in Winnipeg.
