Biography

Frank was born in 1884. He is the son of George Davis.

In 1921, Frank, store keeper, 35 was boarding with Neomi Hale and her daughter Ruth in Brookfield, Colchester Co.

He married in Truro, 17 Aug 1922, Florence May Beaton of Springhill. She was born in Springhill to Alexander Beaton and Effie Ferguson.

In 1931, Frank Edwin, manager-chain store, 44, Florence May, 34, Ione Barron, 7 and Douglas Arthur, 3, were residing in Springhill, Cumberland Co.

Frank was the owner of Davis' Ladies Shop in Kentville and was living in Kentville until he moved to British Columbia in 1943 and to Victoria in 1951.

He died in Victoria, British Columbia on 29 Nov 1963 and is buried in the Royal Oak Burial Park in Victoria.

1. Ione Barron, b. ca 1924 in Springhill, m. Sydney Robert Sherratt of Victoria, BC, res. Comox, British Columbia in 1959, res Beloeil, PQ in 1963. Poss. bur. Stokenchurch, Wycombe District, Buckinghamshire, England.
2. Douglas Arthur, b. ca 1928 in Springhill, res. in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1963. May have graduated from UBC in Commerce, class of '47.

Research Notes

The 26 Jul 1955 edition of the Vancouver Sun reported: "To Mr. and Mrs. Douglas A. Davis, of North Vancouver, on July 25, 1955, at Grace Hospital, a son, Stephen Michael, 8 lbs. 4 ozs., a brother for Carol and Glenn."
