Josiah Davis was a soldier in the company of Captain John Gorham in King Philip’s war in 1675.[4]
The will of Josiah Davis Sen., of Barnstable was dated 21 April 1709 and proved on 5 October 1709 in Barnstable. He mentioned his children, John Davis (eldest son), Josiah Davis, Jonathan Davis, Stephen Davis, Hannah Cobb, Ruth Davis, Sarah Davis, and Anne Davis. His inventory was taken on 27 September 1709.[6]
In 1715, a wood lot was divided between his eldest son John, and the other eight children (not named).[7]
