Biography

Samuel Davis, son of John and Hannah (Linnell) Davis was born in mid-December 1651 at Barnstable, MA. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

He resided at Barnstable and did not marry. He died in 1711. ^[2][3]

In his will dated June 25, 1711 and proved January 4, 1712, he leaves his brother Benjamin the use of his much of his land and upon Benjamin's decease, his nephew Samuel, son of his brother Jabez, deceased will then inherit those lands. Failing the transfer of lands to Samuel, he names also his brother Joseph's son Simon.^[3][4]

He further made bequests to the following heirs:

• Sister Mary Davis
• Jabez' son Solomon and his three daughters
• Sister Ruth Linnell and her children
• Brother Joseph, his three sons and his daughter Mary
• Brother Dolar, his son Shubael, his daughters Hannah, Thankful and Mary
• Sister Mary Hinckley and her daughter Mary
• Children of his sister Hannah Jones
• Brother John's 10 sons and two daughters
• Brother Timothy, his son Nicholas and his daughter. ^[3]

In 1718, after his brother Benjamin decease, John Linnel was granted the administration of his estate.^[5]
