Category: Evans-20927 - George Patfield and Mary O'Brien Descendants
George Patfield-Mary O'Brien Descendants is the category linking the thousands of descendants of George Patfield, convict per Neptune June 1790, and Mary O'Brien, convict per Bellona January 1793, who were married on 19th May 1793 in St John's Church of England, Parramatta, New South Wales. George and Mary certainly became Australians by much conviction!
If we were to jump to the 'last page of the book' we would read that whatever their mistakes in life, George and Mary paid their dues to society and achieved far more in colonial New South Wales than they could ever possibly have dreamed in England. George and Mary also gave more in their new 'upside-down' world than they could have otherwise. Every descendant, every family member, can be justly proud of their Aussie pioneer forebears.
George and Mary's children were:
- Elizabeth (Oct 1793-unknown) died in infancy.
- Ann (1796-1855) married convict William Pincham and, later, Samuel Pearce. Settled in the Pennant Hills district.
