Carlisle County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. Its county seat is Bardwell. It was part of Hickman County from 1821 to 1842 when it was included in the creation of Ballard County. Carlisle County was then created May 3, 1886, and is named for John Griffin Carlisle, a Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from Kentucky.
