Mary Edith Brown was born on May 28, 1866 in Browntown, Green, Wisconsin, United States.^[1]

Mary (15) married John William Phillips (23) (born on June 24, 1858 in Browntown; son of Reuben Phillips and Christine Epler Bechtolt) in 1882 in Browntown. Their son was Roy Harrison Phillips (~1901–~1978).

Mary died on September 15, 1939 in Green County, Wisconsin, aged 73. She was buried in Saucerman Cemetery, Browntown, Green County, Wisconsin.^{[2] [1]}
