She married Isaac McLaughlin around 1870, per the age of their eldest child in 1880.
In the 1900 census Melia (age 50) was the widowed head of household in De Kalb, Kershaw, South Carolina.[1]
Amelia died on 7 September 1921 and was buried in Cedars Cemetery, Camden, Kershaw County, South Carolina, United States.[2]
