In search of parents for Joseph Brown 1794-1876. Possibly born in New Ipswitch, NH or Vermont.

War of 1812 veteran. Buried at West Martinsburg, Lewis County, New York. He married Mary Green 1796-1874 in Herkimer County, New York. Their first child, Sarah, (m.Gideon Plopper) was born 1821. By then they are living in the Fairfield, Salisbury, Herkimer County, New York area. They moved to Martinsburg, Lewis County, New York around 1835 and are first listed as living with the Plopper family. Other children are Margaret (m.John Snyder) 1829- , Asa S. Brown 1830-1904 (my GG grandfather), Mary L. (m.Richard Knight)1835-1881 and Alfred M. 1836-1894.
