Mary, child of James Broom & Ann Broom (birth surname unknown - possibly Markey), was born on 16 August 1839 and baptised on 25 August 1847 in Bath, Somerset, England.^{[1] [2]}

In the 1841 census Mary (age 2) was in Somerset, England with her parents and two siblings.^{[3] [4]}
