Hello William,

hope you find your ancestors from Germany and perhaps from the Rhineland! Good luck!

Hi, William, welcome to Wikitree!!

Dave Rutherford said everything I could tell you below. Simply add the category text to each of your ancestors from Bavaria or the Palatinate and they will populate the list automatically. If you need any help, please let me know.

Hi Bill,

Jacky Clark writes that you are interested in the Palatinate. We have two sub projects at German Roots.

One project focuses on ancestors from the Rhineland-Palatinate. You can contact Michael Thomas if you are interested in joining.

And the second is the Palatine Migration Project (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Palatine_Migration), primarily concerned with emigration from all German speaking parts of Europe in the 18th century, prior to the American Revolution, a group commonly known as Palatines.

If you are interested in joining Palatine Migration, send a trusted list request to our bulletin board (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Palatine_Migration_Project_Bulletin_Board) and I will be happy to add you to our project.

Hi William

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge. Now it is time to pick a project for the 1700's profiles.

It looks like United States History would be a good fit with the contributions you entered. Adding the tag United_States_History will help you get updates about activity for that project. There are a number of sub projects to explore

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Or Check the list of active projects to see if one better fits your needs.active projects

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Hello

We've made a change in how the tutorials are sent to new members. Instead of weekly messages you can now work at your own pace.

How is it going so far? Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

PS Sometimes links don't work in emails. You can always find a link that works in the public comments on your profile.

You've been a WikiTree member for several weeks now! We hope your profiles are starting to come together and that you've enjoyed getting to know all of us a little better.

You are probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. Since collaboration isn't always easy, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer.

I'm always happy to answer questions!

It's time for your next stop on the guided tour!

This week, we'd like to show you How to Join in the Community. There's no shortage of opportunities to get involved through social media, our forum, and projects.

Be sure to check out the One Name Studies Project to see if anyone has started a project for one of the surnames in your family. Don't see one? Follow the instructions for starting your own!

Please let me know if you have questions. :-) Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Thanks, WikiMessenger Cindy

Hi William,

Thanks for joining us! I’m David, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.

Did you have fun learning your way around WikiTree yesterday?

I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can answer?

Hi William,

Thanks for completing the tag indicating you wish to research/document your family history. You are now a confirmed member, and you can get started adding your family members.

As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.

Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.

Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.

You can also meet some of our members by joining in the fun with our Question of the Week in the G2G forum: Are you related to a Magna Carta Surety Baron?

Great to have you on board and good luck growing your branches.
