Thomas was born about 1795 in Kragnæs, Lenvik, Troms, Norway to parents Andreas Ludvigsen and Gertrue Maria Thomasdatter. In 1822 he married Anne Bergitta Andreasdatter who also lived at Kragnæs. ^[1]
