Biography

Ellen I "Nellie" Anderson was born about 1865 in Plympton, Lambton, Ontario, Canada. She is the daughter of farmer James Anderson and Agnes Moore.

In 1871 Ellen was 6 yrs. old, living with her parents and seven siblings on their farm in Plympton.^[1]

In the 1881 census Ellen (age 16) was living with her family in Plympton, Lambton, Ontario, Canada. They were Scotch, and their faith was C. Presbyterian.^[2]

Ellen "Nellie" (age 20, spinster) married Albert Philipps (age 28) October 3, 1882 in Plympton, Lambton, Ontario, Canada, at her home residence. He was the son of John Phillips (Philipp) and Alberta Unknown (Albertina Schamger), and was born in Germany. Albert was a bachelor and was residing in Michigan, United States working as a Cooper. They were both Presbyterian faith. Witnesses were William Anderson and Janet Anderson of Plympton. The wedding was performed by Rev. G. Cuthbertson and by license.^[3] Not known if they had children.

Ellen passed away (age 21). Nellie was mentioned on a memorial in Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming, Lambton County, Ontario, Canada with a death date of 15 August 1886. The funeral took place at the residence of her father James Anderson ( Lot 19, Con 3, Plympton).^[4]
