Biography

We are heartbroken to announce that Liza Marie Allain's long battle with breast cancer, which began in 2008, came to an end on December 15th, 2023. Her cancer was stubborn but so was she.

Liza appreciated and was thankful for every minute she got to spend laughing with her family and friends, eating delicious food, relaxing with her dogs, and travelling all over the world. She knew that life was short and she wasn't afraid to try new things. She swam with dolphins and stingrays in Cuba, she ziplined in Jamaica, she rode a camel in Mexico, and enjoyed helping people in Guatemala. She loved her job working in hospitals, clinics, and doctors' offices for over 30 years. She had a big heart and a big smile, happy to help everyone she could.

Mourning her death are her daughter and best friend, Lyne Allain (with partner Keenan Sutherland), her father, George Allain (with partner Aline Cormier), her sister, Joanne Henrie (with husband Jean-Claude), her brother, Guy Allain (with wife Monique), along with a niece, nephew, grand-nieces, grand-nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were practically family.

Liza was a truly wonderful mother, a supportive sister, a loving daughter, and a loyal friend. If you were fortunate enough to love Liza, she wanted you to know that she is no longer in pain and her heart will always be with you.

She is now reunited with her mother, Diane (Noël) Allain, in heaven, where Liza promises to look in on her favourite people often to send them good vibes and a sign that she's watching over them.

There will be no visitation or funeral service.

Donations in Liza's memory to the Canadian Red Cross and The Rose Fund are encouraged so that Liza can continue to give back to others through the organizations that helped make her time near the end more comfortable with equipment loans and funded massage therapy. Liza also loved animals and would be honoured if you would like to make a donation to your local animal shelter, The Rose Fund, or The Red Cross, in her name.
