I’m looking for more information on Jakob Werkmann born in 1838 in Eglebach Hesse Germany, son of Johann Heinrich Werkmann and Margarathe Finch. They came to US through New Orleans in early 1850s and went to McDonough, County Illinois. He may have been enlisted in the Civil War, I would presume for the North.
