Kat, I used the Connection feature of WT to search for common connections between us. It did not find any Wilson connection. The shortest connection was through Michelle's Bray ancestors, which you already knew about. WT did find a more distant common ancestor between us: Dorothy Symonds (Symonds-409, 1600-1678). For me, it goes through the Rockhold > Peck > Gale > Fiske line. For you it goes through the Smith > Sherman > Stearns > Fiske line. Despite this limitation of WT, it might still be possible for a common Wilson ancestor to exist, since the WT database is not complete. --Alan Wilson (Wilson-15177)

Hi Alan!

I'm a cousin of your wife's on the Dupont side. But also I see we are possibly 12th cousins too!

Hi Alan

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Also noticed you made 1794 contributions to Wikitree, wow, thank you! Here at WikiTree we like to have our members involved with others; collaboration is key!

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors?

Why don't you stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.

Again, thanks for volunteering to work on Pre-1700 profiles!

Dorothy, Volunteer Coordinator.

You might want to set your Privacy to Private with Public Family Tree. The WikiTree programming needs to see your Family Tree tab to make DNA and other cousin connections for you. Please take a look at my profile http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Cooper-1 where I use Private with Public Biography AND Family Tree to see a list of some of my WikiTree cousin connections and my list of U.S. Presidential cousins.

I have reviewed the mission statement and I agree. I have also reviewed the nine simple rules for genealogists and I agree with them. I therefore volunteer to participate in the wiki for genealogy.
