Biography
George was born in 1852. He passed away in 1942.
"Glenns - Mr. George W. Wilson, age 89 years, one of the oldest citizens in Gloucester County, died at his home near Glenns on June 15th, after a long illness.
Funeral services were conducted at New Hope Methodist church by Rev. M. H. Barton, Wednesday at 3 p.m. with interment in New Hope cemetery.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Philip H. Rilee of Glenns, seven sons, Messrs. Roderick Wilson, Melvin Wilson, and Richmond Wilson of Shackelfords; Bernard Wilson of Glenns, James Henry Wilson of Pampa; Walter C. Wilson and Homer L. Wilson, with whom he made his home. Also 37 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 6 daughters-in-law; 9 grand-daughters-in-law; 12 grandsons-in-law and one brother, Joel C. Wilson of Glenns.
The active pallbearers were his grandsons, Allen and Woodrow Rilee, Stuart Wilson, Lenard Wilson, Hubert Wilson and Atlee Wilson."
