Biography
Matilda Wilson, daughter of Thomas (shoemaker) & Hannah, (daughter of John Burton, farmer, of Acomb, York), was born on 21 December 1808 and baptised in York, Yorkshire.[1]
Matilda Wilson married William Raper Limbert (Painter) on 22 April 1832 in York, Holy Trinity Kings Court, Yorkshire (Ainsty & City of York). Witnesses were Thomas and Mary Wilson.[2]
Matilda Limbert's death (age 51) was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1860 in the York district.[3]
In the 1841 census Matilda Limbert (age 30) was on George Street, St George, York, Yorkshire & Yorkshire (West Riding).[4]
Matilda Limbert was listed as a shopkeeper at 5 Dove Street (the address where she was living with her husband William and mother in law Margaret) in the City Of York Trade Directories in 1851 in York, Yorkshire (Ainsty & City of York).[5] Matilda Limbert was also in the City Of York Trade Directories in 1851 in Layerthorpe, York, Yorkshire (Ainsty & City of York).[6] Matilda doesn't appear in the census for 1851 however. [7]
