Lamonithal Williams Edmonds known as "Moni" daughter of the late Leonard and Viola Turner Williams was born October 3, 1924, in Marshall, Texas. She was one of three sisters and her three brothers preceded her in death. Moni graduated from Pemberton High School, Wiley College and did her graduate work at Columbia University in New York. She served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was hoborably discharged. (PVT LaMonthal Laffette Williams was a member of the all black WAC 6888th Postal Directory Battalion stationed in England and France during WWII sorting the mail for the American troops.) She was a Soror of the Delta Sigma Theta. Moni taught school in Jefferson, Texas and also on an Indian Reservation in North Dakota. In later years she met and married Henry Edmonds and moved to New York City. In New York, Moni worked for Ascap and Muzak and eventually taught school for the New York City School District. She is survived by her husband Henry "Hank" Edmonds, sisters, Doris Meadows Bonner and Delores Roberson, neice, Wanda Meadows-Mitchell, nephews, John Wesley Roberson, Emmitt Williams, Jr. and Donald Wayne Williams.[1]

Lamonithal was in a military record on 31 March 1944 in Los Angeles, California. Their service number was A-920035.[6][7]
In the 1950 census Lementhal (age 23) was the never married daughter of Viola Williams in Marshall, Harrison, Texas, United States.[8]
Lamonithal Edwards (living in New York) was mentioned in the obituary of her mother Viola Marie Williams on 13 September 1963 in Marshall, Texas, United States.[9]
Lamonithal died in February 1992 and was buried in Marshall, Harrison, Texas, United States.[10]
