John married Hannah Pratt in 1686.[3] They had no children.[2] He served as executor for his father's estate in 1712.
John died on 28 July 1727. He had written a will four days earlier, which was offered for probate on 5 November 1727. He left his homestead to his nephew David, the fourth son of his brother Nicholas, and also mentions his wife Hannah. Zachary Whitman, eldest son of his brother Ebenezer, decd., his sisters Mary Leach, Susannah Willis, Naomi Snow, decd., Hannah Leach. His inventory was taken on 18 October 1727 in Bridgewater.[2][4]
