Melissa, you are profile manager for https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Snyer-7

That profile includes an incorrect category or sticker qualifier which is generating an inaccurate category. Please change Wampanoag People to just Wampanoag.

Thank you.

I changed it to just "Wampanoag". The "Wampanoag People" was the way the tag was listed on another page that I had copied the code from. Should I change it to "Aquinnah Wampanoag " as seen on my profile page to reflect our tribal affiliation? Also, is there a way to change the "was" to "is" in the tag for living tribal members? Thank you.
We do not have a category for "Aquinnah Wampanoag" so I recommend against it. You can certainly include that detail in the narrative without using a category.

Try adding "living=yes" or "living=y"

Native American Sticker|living=yes|tribe=Wampanoag

I *think* that should work.

I ran out of space on my previous comment, but eventually I'll upload descriptive roll details for the two men, and we can also compare their height and description for further evidence. I'm in the long haul of uploading military records for all 1,200+ enlisted men of the 54th so it may be a minute ;) You have an extraordinary man in your family line, so grateful to know you've found him and can honor his memory now.

Hi, Melissa! Re: Peter E. vs. Peter B. Johnson of the 54th: they're distinct. It takes a minute to get the right lenses on for seeing military details, it definitely did for me! The things to look for that help distinguish them: the company they served in (each regiment is split into 10 companies), their enlistment date and their muster out date. PBJ was Co. A, enlisted 4 March 1863, KIA 17 July 1863. PEJ was Co. I, enlisted 6 December 1863, and survived the war. Had the same man disappeared in July and re-enlisted, a whole bunch of men would've eventually recognized him and the paperwork would've reshuffled, and there also likely would've been a court martial. No evidence of any of that, so feel confident they're distinct. It's hard with the more common surnames! :)
