Biography
Sarah Jane Watson was born about 1850 in Haltwhistle, Northumberland, England. She was the daughter of John Watson and Mary Hetherington.
On 15 May 1875 in Darlington, Durham, she married Thomas Tarn.[1]
They immigrated to the colony of Queensland, arriving in Brisbane on 7 February 1877 aboard Glamis.[2][3]
Thomas and Sarah had children:
- Eleanor Jane Tarn died young
- Maggie Tarn m Edmund Joseph Boaz
- Charles Tarn m Ida Mary Shugg
- Edith Tarn m Edgar Hodges/Heppell
Her husband, Thomas, passed away in 1888 in Sydney.
In 1892 in Newtown, Sydney she married Harvey Smith.[4]
She passed away after 1892.
