Biography

John Washington aka John Lame Washington was born about 1734 in Stafford County, Virginia, British Colonial America. He passed away in 1787 in Westmoreland County, Virginia, USA.[1]

The son of Robert and Sarah (Fossaker) Washington, John was named in his father's will along with his sister Sukey aka Susanna and his niece and nephew Sarah and Robert Townshend Washington.[2]

John Washington's will was dated 8 July 1785 and proved 26 June 1787 in a court held for Westmoreland County, Virginia. In his will he leaves his estate for life to his loving wife Constant. Upon her death the estate to be sold and the money divided among his children: his unborn child, daughter Sarah Harper one ring only as she has her estate, son William Henry to have the seal with the family arms on it; son Robert Lund Washington to have his books and saddle; son Robert Townsend Washington, deceased, sons Thomas Terrett Washington, Robert Pitt Washington, George Washington and daughters Louisa Fossaker Washington and Nancy Constantia Washington. He named as his Executors William Fitzhugh of Chatham and his nephew Henry Washington.[3]
