Biography

Luke Ward was 54 in 1901 and 64 in 1911, but may have been born as early as 1842.^{[citation needed]} The 1901 census gives his birthplace as Co. Carlow and the 1911 census as Co. Kilkenny, but he may have been born in the townland of Loan (also known as Loon), where he was enumerated in the 1901 census.^{[citation needed]}

In the 1901 census Luke Ward (age 54), Farmer, was the married head of household in Loan, Castlecomer, Kilkenny, Ireland.^[1]

In the 1911 census Luke Ward (age 64), Farmer, was the married head of household in Moyhora, Clogh, Kilkenny, Ireland.^[2]
