Biography

Warren Walker is a part of US Black heritage.

Warren Walker was born in Jan 1861 in Texas, son of Edward and Caroline Walker.

The 1870 Census[1] shows him at age 9 in the home of his parents in McLennan County, Texas, in the area served by the Waco post office.

The 1880 Census[2] shows him at age 17 in the home of his uncle Jacob Walker, who is a farmer, in Justice Precinct 7, McLennan County, Texas. He is laboring.

Warren married Sopha Sypho on 5 Dec 1884 in McLennan County, Texas.[3] Their children:

  1. Caroline (Walker) McKittrick (1889–abt.1969)
  2. Fannie Walker (1891–Deceased)
  3. Willie (Walker) Swanson (1892–Deceased)
  4. John Cleveland Walker (1894–1973)
  5. Annie Walker (1896–Deceased)
  6. Beatris (Walker) Hamilton (1897–1986)
  7. Corine Lydia Walker (1901–1923)

The 1900 Census[4] shows him at age 39 with his wife, five children, his mother-in-law, an aunt, two nieces, and a granddaughter in Justice Precinct 1, McLennan County, Texas. He is a farmer.

The 1910 Census[5] shows him at age 45 with his wife and seven children in Gatesville Township, Wagoner County, Oklahoma. He is a farmer. This census states that his wife is the mother of 7 children with 7 still living.

The 1920 Census[6] shows him at age 56 with his wife, two children, a son-in-law, a grandson, and a brother-in-law in Gatesville Township, Wagoner County, Oklahoma. He is a farmer on general farm.

The 1930 Census[7] shows him at age 67 with his wife and a grandson in Gatesville Township, Wagoner County, Oklahoma. He is a farmer.

The 1940 Census[8] shows him at age 76 with his wife and widowed sister-in-law in Gatesville Township, Wagoner County, Oklahoma.

Warren died on 17 Jun 1946 in Wagoner County, Oklahoma,[9] and is buried at the Redbird Cemetery in Red Bird, Wagoner County, Oklahoma.[10]
