Edward Walker was born around 1797, assuming he was married at around 21 years.
He married Alethea Pearson at St Mary's Church, Nottingham, on the 23rd March 1818, after banns.[1] Witnesses to the marriage were William Hickman and Jane Walker.
They had the following identified children:
On the baptism records of John and Elizabeth, his occupation was given as Wheelwright.
He died sometime before 1840, when Alithia Walker remarried.
There are no obvious baptisms for Edward Walker in Nottinghamshire. Edward could have been much older than Alithia, or born in another county. There was an Edward & Jane Walker living in Mansfield, who had a daughter Jane born 1800, but they had no recorded son Edward baptised at Mansfield.
I have not checked the marriage entry against the original register entry, as it is not available online. It would have been useful to see if it added any further details.
On his daughter Elizabeth's marriage entry, her father's occupation was wheelwright. On his daughter Alice's marriage entry, her father's occupation was soldier. Could this suggest he died while serving as a soldier? Gibson-26492 08:55, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
