John, the son of James Walker^[1] and Ann Lockhart, was born on 26 Jul 1828 in Balfron, Stirling, Scotland.^[2]

John married Leah McCracken on 28 January 1853 in Faughanvale, Londonderry, Ireland.^[1][3] Their children were:

• Margaret Ann Walker, born about 1854^[4]
• John Walker, born about 1855^[5]
• Matilda Mary Walker, born about 1859^[6]
• Eliza Walker, born about 1861^[7]
• Lavinia Walker, born on 7 Jul 1867^[8]

Son, Joseph was most likely born in 1868 (not 1867 as this record shows) as his sister Lavinia was born in 1867. More research may clear this up.
