Ann Walker married Kemp Knott on 19 Feb 1814 in St Martin-In-The-Fields, London, Westminster, England.

The family were members of Bailie's Party of 1820 Settlers:

William Harrison 30, (pseudonym for Kemp Knott) Farmer and Miller; Wife Ann Walker 30. (This family of Knotts travelled under the name of Harrison)
Children: George Knott 2, Mary Knott (born at sea).

The party embarked in the Chapman transport at Deptford; they sailed from Gravesend on 3 December 1819. The Chapman anchored in Table Bay on 17 March 1820; she was the first of the settler ships to anchor in Algoa Bay on 10 April 1820.

The party was escorted by the Landdrost of Uitenhage, Colonel Cuyler, to its location at the mouth of the Great Fish River. Sixty-four one-acre lots were measured for a village which was named Cuyler Town (later Cuylerville). There were more children born in the Cape Colony:

Sarah (Knott) Miller
Martha (Knott) King
Benjamin Knott

Her death was reported in the Fort Beaufort Advocate on Saturday, June 13, 1874:[2][3]

We have to record the death of another of the Settlers of 1820, Mrs KNOTT, widow of the late Kemp KNOTT, Esq., who for many years resided on Settler’s Hill in this city. Some little time back, she was taken to the farm of her son-in-law, Mr. MILLER, her advanced years and extreme feebleness necessitating constant attention, and at that place she breathed her last yesterday morning in the 85th year of her age.
