Biography

I live in Sweden and would be glad for any help discovering our German roots. Around 1720 -1730 a Johann Arnold entered service in Russia as a military doctor. He (maybe with his father) emigrated from Germany, possibly Nassau (Hessen) or Sachsen (Erzgebirge).

In the 1790's the family ended up in Estonia (Järve Mois (Türpsal). A hundred yrs later most of them settled down in Sweden, while one branch returned to Russia. The last male Paykull, Friedrich Reinhold, died 1815 and as we left there were no more Arnolds / Paykulls left in Estonia.
