Alfred Hermann Traeger was an Australian inventor, chiefly known for the development of the pedal radio.

  • Was born on 2 August 1895 in the parish of Woorak, Dimboola, Victoria, to Louisa (nee Zerna) and Johann Hermann Traeger.[1]
  • Attended school at Balaklava, South Australia.
  • 1937
    • Working as radio engineer for the Federal Council of the Australian Aerial Medical Services.[2]
    • Resided with or near parents in Magill.[3][2]
    • 11 September, aged 42, married Olga Emilie Schodde at Lutheran church on Flinders Street, Adelaide.[4][2]
  • 22 January 1940: Daughter born.[5]
  • 17 August 1948: Wife Olga died at Erindale, South Australia.[6]
  • Died in South Australia on 31 July 1980 [7] and buried at Centennial Park Cemetery on 1 August 1980. [8]
