John Y. Thompson was born in 1727, in County Antrim, Ireland and immigrated to New Castle county, Delaware before the American Revolutionary War. John was a member of the Committee of the Constitutional Assembly, representing New Castle County, Delaware. John is honored for his Patriotic Service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A114222. DAR records indicate that John died in 1790, in New Castle Delaware and that he was twice married. His first wife was Mary Sands and his second wife was Letitia McKean. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of his son, David Thompson, who married Frances Aiken. [1]
