Biography

Marriage: 07 JAN 1700, Québec City, Québec, Canada[1]

Death: 18 DEC 1741, Montréal, Canada

Pierre LeTellier marries Marie Anne Leroux (Leroult in marriage record), daughter of Hébert Leroult and Marie Ursule Greslon on January 7th, 1700 in Notre-Dame church of Quebec city. He is recorded as being a widower, of Claude Davelin (unclear record as to name, no trace of her can be found in records consulted).

They have one daughter, Marie Suzanne, born and baptized November 5th 1700, who marries Jacques Chaplain, son of Bernard Chaplain and Éléonore Mouillard, on March 29th, 1717 in Notre-Dame church of Montreal. She is stated as being 17 on the record. She later is recorded as marrying Julien Leboeuf, son of Laurent Leboeuf and Jacquette Lebissac, on November 28th, 1725, again in Notre-Dame church of Montreal. Recorded as being 26 on this record.

As a note, Suzanne's birth records her mother's name as Laseigne.

A son, François Élie, is registered to François LeTellier and Marie-Anne Leroux, born August 2nd, 1703, baptized in Notre-Dame church of Montreal that same day. François marries Marguerite Georget on November 9th, 1724 in Contrecoeur church. Her parents are listed as Jean Georget and Louise Arquois. This record also lists François' mother as Marie Anne Laseigne

(Father: Charles Gagné): Marie-Charlotte Gagniers/Gagné born and baptized on August 16, 1706 in Montréal. The name of the mother for this child is recorded as Marie Anne Laseigne (this is a name associated with Leroux among others), godfather Jacques Étienne (?) and godmother Catherine Juillet. (source Drouin collection)

Marie Anne Leroux et De Tellier is recorded as mother of Joseph Leroux et de Tellier, born and baptized 15 April 1716 at Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade. The godparents are Antoine Grandbois and Angélique Gaudry (source Drouin collection)

Marie Anne Leroux is recorded as mother of Pierre Leroux, baptized the June 17, 1718 at Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade. The text reads ...have baptized Pierre, son (blank) the mother Marie Anne Leroux wife of Tellier, the godfather was Pierre Lévesque and the godmother Madeleine Lévesque, who signed.... (Source: Drouin collection).

Le Tellier family: Another source shows that Pierre and Pierre-François are descendants of Nicolas Le Tellier, claimed son of Charles Le Tellier (1580-1635), seigneur de Morsan, and Catherine Vaillant de Guélis (Charles was of the French noble family of Le Tellier. Ennobled in 1574.):

Nicolas Le Tellier (d. après 1644), bourgeois de Paris, épouse Girarde Prothé;
Pierre Le Tellier (c. 1637- avant le 22 juillet 1685), bourgeois de Paris, voiturier par terre, épouse Marie Chevalier;
Pierre-François Le Tellier (1663-1741), épouse, à Paris, en 1685, Claude Buselin, puis, le 7 janvier 1700, à Québec, Marie-Anne Leroux, auteur de la branche canadienne de la famille qui existe encore.

This possible connection to the Le Tellier noble family needs further research and proof as Nicolas is not mentioned in another document. Sources (with photo):
