Biography

Edna (Talbott) McGee was a Montanan.

Edna Mae Talbott was born in Carter, Montana on April 24, 1914. She was the daughter of Earl Talbott and Vieva Keys. She was the third of five children and the first daughter born to the couple.

Edna was raised in Great Falls, Montana. She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1932. On April 3, 1934 she married Harold Kost in Great Falls, Montana. The couple first settled into a home on S. 3rd Avenue in Great Falls before buying a house on 8th Avenue. They had three children.

On August 5, 1943, Edna divorced Harold, citing extreme cruelty. She was not awarded custody of her children. On September 22, 1943 Edna married William Spiker at the county courthouse in Silver Bow County, Montana. William lived in Walden, Colorado and it is likely that Edna moved to Colorado after their marriage. By 1950, the couple was living in Benton County, Washington. It did not appear that they had any children. By 1952, the couple had returned to Montana, settling in Jardine. On June 1, 1952, William died as a result of injuries sustained in a rockface collapse at the quarry he was working.

By 1953, Edna was living in Choteau County, Montana. On March 10, 1953, Edna married Clifford Rossberg in Choteau County, Montana. Clifford died in 1956. After his death, Edna worked as a radio telephone operator.

In March 1959, Edna filed to change her last name on the Montana voter registration to McGee. Presumably, she married a Mr. McGee in early 1959. However, by the time of her death in 1990, they had divorced.

Edna worked for Greyline in Las Vegas for several years. She also worked for the Yellow and Black Cab Company in Great Falls, Montana. She also worked in administration for the Cascade County Convalescence Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, reading, fishing, and hunting.

Edna died in a Great Falls, Montana nursing home on March 8, 1990. She was 75 years old. She was cremated.
