Hi Jessica,

I found this record on the Lancashire Parish Clerks online records:

Baptism: 8 Dec 1793 St Cuthbert, Churchtown, Lancashire Alice Barton - Daughter of Jas. Barton & Pegy Born: 19 Nov 1793 Abode: South Hawse Register: Baptisms 1791 - 1812, Page 6 Source: Original Parish Register I am sure this is our Alice Barton. If you agree please add the source. I am still working to find the wife of Thomas Barton B:1681

Hi Alan,

I have that baptism record attached to a distant great grand-aunt Barton-10769 (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Barton-10769). Is there someone else you think it should be added to? Jessica

Hi Jessica, thanks so much for your edits to the Cadwell family members' profiles I manage. I'd love to give you the manager role of the ones you edited if you are interested. Having help with updating Cadwell profiles is amazing, especially as I’m working on establishing the One Name Study! Best, Stephanie
Hi Stephanie, I am glad to see someone take an interest on those Cadwell profiles, and I will definitely be taking a look at your One Name Study. I believe I originally created a lot of the profiles in that particular group of Cadwells, although I removed myself as profile manager once I had them “genealogically defined.” I still have a few Cadwells on my list, mainly because I am hoping to figure out more information on their spouses and children. If you want to co-manage any of these for the purpose of your study, just let me know. I mainly work on profiles in the North Meols/Southport area, where I have a lot of family (although I have no direct Cadwell ancestors). I haven’t declared my research an official One Place Study, but that might be something I should do in the future. I’ve been using the category activity feeds to keep track of everything, rather than leaving a ton of profiles on my watchlist. So I’m not currently looking to manage more profiles, although I appreciate your offer. Best wishes and good luck on your study!

Thank you for adding the died young sticker to Richard Hesketh (1877-1877), I had missed this one.

So I have now added him to our Remember the children page which gets him a profile image.

You're welcome, and thank you for the "generous genealogist" award. You may want to add a similar image to the page for Richard's brother James Hesketh. It looks like an unfortunate and all too common case of twins who only lived for a few days each.

Thanks for this, something else I had missed. Now done.

Hello!

I just noticed your changes for a couple members of the Gurney family and your suggested merge of Sarah Gurney. I just took care of the merge and looked at the profiles down your line. It looks like you and I are 7th cousins once removed! And it also looks like you do some very nice work on profiles. Welcome to the family! (Although I suppose you've been part of it since you were born--I just didn't know it.)

Nice to meet you as well, and thank you so much for your compliments on my profiles! You will probably be seeing more of me, as I have quite a few profiles I plan to add in and around the Chislet area and there are bound to be more connections.

I may also have some additions to make to the Gurney line, but I want to be absolutely certain I can substantiate everything (also dealing with pre-1700 people so I have to be very careful). Most of the further history relies on the assumption that John Gurney Sr was born 1681 in Herne to Edward and Ann (the record states "John Gurnay"). The father Edward Gurney (also "Gourney") married Ann Rose in 1677 and was said to be a bachelor, 25, of Chislet. While John Sr only had the one son (John Jr), John Jr had 2 sons named Edward, so it seems to have been a family name. I wanted to run this by you before I go ahead with adding generations of history!

I will likely try to get Edward and Ann and their further family history added, as they can always be disconnected from John if needed.

Hello Jessica,

Congratulations on certifying to work on Pre-1700 profiles! It is very important to read and understand https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.
