Beck (Stringer) Gambrell was a South Carolinian.
Rebecca, "Beck" lived in Anderson County, South Carolina and was enslaved by William K Stringer.
William Stringer died in 1836. Rebecca was listed in his probate inventory valued with a child at $800. They were sold to the widow Elizabeth Stringer for $1400.[1]
Hugh Wilson died in 1863. In his will Becky, along with her husband Grandison, was listed as being bequeathed to the widow Elizabeth Wilson.[2] Grandison was valued at $1500, and Becky valued at $700.[3]
In 1866, husband Grandison Gambrell signed a work contract with J. R. Wilson to work on the plantation where they were formerly enslaved.[4]
Rebecca must have been deceased by 1870 as Grandison married Charity before 1870.[5]
