I do not see that the proper way to correct this is to just remove the ref name citation? Yet at least one DD member is doing just that, even on Project Managed profiles...

But is there the actual citation in the bio? If there isn't anything slightly related to it, the only reasonable thing it so remove it. It can often be a leftover of copy/paste from another profile.

If you are used to sources from a specific location/country you could, at least in this specific case, have replaced the ref name citation with a "proper source" even if the actual citation was not in the bio. Because he/she was not used to researching profiles from this country, it was simply removed instead.

How about a text version of the explanation(s) for correcting errors for those of us with hearing problems.

Thank you for your comment Walt

The text for the error is the help page. Linda has placed a very helpful explaination in another earlier comment, which you may find useful.

I appreciate that you may find hearing the voice on the video difficult, I listen to them via headphones both with and without my hearing aids

Your point will be taken into consideration during the help page review

Do you know, that you can turn on the subtitles on the video and then you can read the narration.

This error is incomprehensible. What is a "named inline citation"? If i don't know what it is how can I have used one? Is there a written explanation of what the named error means with examples that actually defines the terms? Does the actual named error show up in the Selected Suggestion? How can the actual error be found so it can be corrected?

When 'ref name' is not defined in the profile and the 'ref name' is pretty detailed, ie Barbour, family name, etc, look in the Changes Log for the profile being worked on to see if the definition had been removed. if not found, using another browser window, if possible, review the profiles for the 'spouse' and 'parents' for the ref name, if not found in the Changes Log.
The script is being too literal. It needs to be more flexible, allowing for multiple whitespace in the tag -- which is allowed -- not only between "ref" and "name", but also between "name" and "="

As it is, its generating too many false reports
