Biography
Mary Laurene Smith was born in 1801 in Vermont, United States. In records, she is often found under the name Laurene. Laurene was the daughter of James Smith and Elizabeth Mills.
Marriage 1
On January 21, 1819, Mary Laurene Smith, age ~18, was married to Adam Chester Bigelow, age ~24. Adam was the son of Cornelius Bigelow and Persis Harris. Together Laurene and Adam had 5 known children:
- James Bigelow (b. 1820 in Chatham, Lower Canada; m1. 1845 Mary Bigelow; m2. 1883 Ellen Bigelow; d. 1914) [1]
- Joseph Bigelow
- Aurelia Orilla Bigelow (b. 1829; m. Elijah Bigelow; d. 1920) [2]
- Levie Biglow (b. 1834; m. 1854, Elisebeth Biglow; d. 1916)[3]
- Catherine Emily Bigelow
In 1843, Laurene's husband Chester Adam Bigalow passed away, age ~48.
Marriage 2
In about 1845, Laurene, widowed, age ~44, was married to Samuel Warwick , age ~19. Samuel was the son of John Warwick and Christiana Lackie.
In 1861, "Levina Warwick, age 50, and her husband Samuel Warwick, age 35" lived in Buckingham, Ottawa, Canada East (Quebec), where Samuel was a farmer. They lived in a 1-story log house and were of the Church of England religion. [4]
In 1871, Laurina Warwick, indexed as Janvier Warwick, age 50, lived with her husband Samuel Warwick, age 47, in Bowman, Bigelow in Ottawa District, Quebec, Canada. [5]
Laurene and Samuel did not have any children together.
Death and Burial
Laurene passed away ~1877 in Buckingham, Quebec.
Laurene's widowed husband remarried in 1879 to Marjory Bigelow. Together Samuel and Marjory had children.
