Christian Wilhelm Schmidt was a Volga German.

Christian Wilhelm Schmidt was born 15 Oct 1775 in Stahl am Tarlyk, Volga, Russia to Peter Schmidt[1], a first settler to Stahl am Tarlyk.

He married widowed Christina Juliana nee Meckel Grass before 1798. They had two children together.

He is listed with his step sons in 1811 census records in Stahl am Tarlyk, Johann Georg Grass, and Gottfried Adam Grass.[2]

Christian Wilhelm Schmidt passed away 15 Jan 1838 in Stahl am Tarlyk at 62 years and 3 months.[3]
