Benjamin Peter Schmidt was born in 1840 in the Russian Empire. Benjamin and his family immigrated to the US in 1875 aboard the SS Kenilworth. The arrived in Philadelphia on 9 Jan, 1875 and from there went to Kansas where they settled in Barton County. He and his family can be found in the state census records in 1875, 1885, 1895, 1905, 1915 and 1925. He is in the federal census in 1880, 1900, 1910 and 1920. He passed away in 1927.
