Biography

Robert Say was the second son born to Robert Say of Ickenham Middlesex and his wife Patience. He was baptised at Ickenham St Giles on 9 December 1576. ^[1]

Robert went into the church, matriculating age 18 on 10 October 1594 at New College Oxford. He took the BA degree 20 April, 1599, the MA 14 Feb 1602-3, and the BD and DD on 5 July, 1614. He was ordained in 1607. He was appointed rector of West Horsley 1609, Tooting Graveney, Surrey, 1614, and St. Alphege, London, 1617. In 1625, he was appointed to St. Michael Harbledown, Eastbridge, and Great Mongeham, Kent, which benefices he held concurrently until his death in 1628. ^{[2] [3]}

He married Elizabeth Champnis on 24 September 1607 at Fyfield, Essex ^[4] Their marriage had issue:

Patience - bp. 28 June 1622 at West Horsley, St Mary, Surrey (father as Dr. Say) ^[6]

He died 8 April and was buried on 10 April 1628 at his church of Great Mongeham, Kent ^[7]
