Disputed Origins

A previous version of this profile was connected to "parents" William Reynolds and Alice Kitson of the Plymouth Colony who relocated and died in Maine. There is no reliable evidence indicating any relationship between them.

"Sarah Ann Reynolds was born about 1660. She passed away about 1687", so that Sarah could not have been the Sarah of this profile, who had a child with Arthur Head about 1694.

Biography

Sarah (Unknown) was perhaps born about 1670, based on the birth of her first known child about 1694. Her parents and origins are not known.

Sarah married, as his second wife, Arthur Head, about 1694, based on a record that has Sarah, the wife of Arthur Head, sweeping the meeting house. Their marriage record is for this year, and is based on the birth of their only known child together.[1] They had children:[2]

Sarah and Arthur had:

  1. Arthur (1694-1717)

James Head, son of Arthur by his first wife Ann, was the administrator of his half-brother Arthur's estate.[2]

Sarah died about 1718. In 1711 Arthur's three children by his first wife deeded their father's house "where our mother Sarah Head now lives" to Philip Atwood of Bradford. When Sarah died in 1718, Philip deeded the house back to them.[2]

The LNAB of the Sarah of this profile should be changed to Unknown. She was previously disconnected from her "parents", so there is no basis for her current LNAB. Also, the "Sarah Ann" given name probably results from the conflation of the names of the two wives of Arthur Head, and should be simplified to Sarah, as supported by the records.
