Digital Afterlife

In the event of my passing into the next phase of lifes' journey, or that I have become unable through physical or mental illness, to continue my labour of love on my branches, I place the profiles I manage into the caring hands of the Wikitree Admin and ask that any English profiles, including my own, first be offered to the Leadership and Members of my dearly beloved England Project. If any member(s) of my family have the desire to continue what I have started, I ask that they be allowed to manage those profiles and have the guidance to continue in the proper manner.

Projects

  • I have created a new Space Page on WikiTree called “Caister lifeboat Disaster 1901” as some of my relatives died in the Disaster. [1]
  • The aim of this project is to digitise the photographs contained within an album presented to The Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain by Frederick Galliard Lyon (1818-1887). The Members included in this particular album will have further documentation also sourced from the Society's archive which relates to aspects of their personal and professional lives. These resources will be linked and added to WikiTree.[2]

For the template to add to your profile go to https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:Clean-a-Thon  you will need to amend it to this year. See the Mighty Oaks page

See you later in the year for the Connect-A-Thon

Hi again, Neill

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

I see that you have already joined the England Project, if you use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find any other that may fit your research focus or interest. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus by using the "reply" link under my comments or by clicking my name to visit my profile. From there you can leave a comment or send a private message.

Karen ~ Pre-1700 Greeter

Hi Neill,

I've added you to the trusted list. I also sent you an e-mail to three week ago using my hotmail account (-ish, time is flying fast), so check your junk mail box in case it was sent there. Once you reply, I can get you in contact with a researcher who has completed the Reed's family history (our 5th or 6th cousin first removed).

Cheers,

Lance

Hi Neill!

Thanks for joining us! I hope you're enjoying our site and our community. I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Has the New Member How To Pages been helpful or has it left you with questions?

It's great to have you on board. Enjoy your time here, and good luck growing your branches. If you need help just click on my name you'll be transferred to my profile where you can post a message or send me a private message.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Thanks Norman

Much appreciated

Hello Neill !

Thanks for volunteering! You are now a full member of the WikiTree community, and can start adding your family. Let me know if you have any questions.

Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour for new members. Please start with our New Member How-To pages.

They will save you time and energy as you add profiles. Once you add profiles to WikiTree they become searchable and in my experience persons interested in these profiles will contact you and may provide further information to expand your family tree.

Great to have you on board, enjoy, and good luck growing your branches.
