Research Notes

Per the New York Tax Assessment Rolls, Tirus Prouty, resided in Cambridge, Washington Co NY for Tax Assessment Year, 1799. The value of his real estate was $150.00 and Personal Property $80.00. Tax was 23 cents. He was also assessed in the same place in 1800 and must have had a profitable year as his Real Estate value was now $820.00, but his personal property value dipped a bit to $74.00 and his Tax was $2.01.

Tirus was born about 1765. He passed away about 1825.
