Peter Pockley is Notable.
Robert Peter Pockley was born on 20th May 1935 in Mosman, New South Wales, Australia. Peter, as he was known, was the only son of Rob Pockley and Ola Whiteford.
Peter was the creator of the ABC's Science Unit, along with education facilities at Australian universities where he shared his knowledge and passion for science journalism. Before broadcasting he’d penned a decent chemistry textbook. After the ABC he went on to universities to set up science communication and training facilities, at University of New South Wales and University of Technology, Sydney. He wrote for the journal Nature, Australasian Science and was on the board of Questacon, recorded long interviews for the National Library of Australia archive and did freelance work.
