Berkeley Thomas Paget was born in January 2, 1780, the sixth and youngest son (called Bartolo or the " Villain " by his brothers and sisters) of Henry first Earl of Uxbridge, by Jane, eldest daughter of the Very Rev. Arthur Champagne.
He joined the 7th Hussars as a youngster, became A.D.C. to the Duke of York, served in the Peninsula and was afterwards for many years M.P. for Anglesey, a Lord of the Treasury, and finally Commissioner of Excise. He died suddenly in 1842, having married in 1804 Sophia Grimston, only child of Hon. Willam (Grimston) Bucknall.

He was born Jan. 2, 1780, the sixth son of Hp of Clonmacnois. He was formerly Aide-de-camp to the Duke of York, in which capacity he was the medium of many of those acts of generosity which procured for the Duke the well-merited appellation of the "soldiers' friend." Mr. Berkeley Paget had resided for many years in Hampton Court Palace, in which neighbourhood, as wherever else be has lived, he was universally esteemed and beloved.
Mr. Berkeley Paget married, Nov. 22, 1804, Sophia. Askell, daughter of the late Hon. William Bucknall Grimston, uncle to the present Earl of Verulam. By this lady, who was Bedchamber Woman to Queen Adelaide, he had issue four sons and three daughters:
Berkeley Paget died on 26 Oct 1842 in Kingston, Surrey, England. His willl bequeathed all his estate and effects to his wife, Sophia and declared her to be his sole executrix. It was executed on the twenty eighth of September, 1808.and proved at London on the 16th November, 1842.
